Celebrating Poland's entry into the EU in Kidderminster in the UK
Honorary Committee: Maria Lee, Henry Lemiech, Cllr. Mike Oborski, Ks. Edward Stachurski
On May 1st 2004 100 million people from 10 countries will join the EU. 40 million of those will be citizens of the Republic of Poland. For Poles this will be a historic day bringing an end to the divisions in Europe created by World War II and its outcome. It also marks the realisation of Poland's aspiration to "anchor" itself into mainstream Europe. It will be celebrated by Polish communities at home and abroad including here in Kidderminster in the heart of the United Kingdom.
